Gold Gr.Ch.Ch.Tolkien Raintree Mister BagginsROM

"Roy" is the Top Winning Bearded Collie in history. He is shown above winning the 2011 Bearded Collie Club of America National Specialty, handled by Clifford Steele. Roy was handled to his first Best in Show by his breeder-owner Angela Stein. Roy has set a new All Breed record for a Beardie at 75 Best in Shows, as well as the most BIS in one year record at 33 in 2010. Roy won the Herding Group at Westminister KC in 2011, being only the second Beardie in history to do so and won the Herding Group Association of New Jersey show for the second straight year in 2011. He gained his Grand Championship title June 6th, 2010 and he is also now a Register of Merit sire. He has now reached the pinnacle of his career by winning the 2011 BCCA National Specialty under Breeder/judge Chris Walkowicz.
Judge Walkowicz stated in her critique in Beardie Bulletin the following:
What can I say? I've watched this Beardie from afar and itched to get my hands on him. He does not disappoint. With long strides and absolutely no effort, he covered ground with ease. An iron topline, wonderful headpiece with that inquiring expression, masculine, yet just downright lovely. He's happy, wagging his tail on the move. You can just tell he loves life. OK, if I had to fault him, I'd like a little lower tail set.
Roy set the bar higher in 2011

BCCA National Specialty BBE & RWD

Pat Laurans comments on Roy at the BCCA National BBE Dog-
"This dog impressed me on the first go 'round and lived up to my early impression. He is beautifully and appropriately made. His headpiece is wonderful, he has the called for front and rear angulation along with the correct croup which allows him his good reach and drive. He moves in an effortless manner, seemingly to float around the ring. His coat is correct as is his proportion and he has a nice short hock. A truly handsome dog!!!!"
On awarding RWD, "What an outstanding Beardie this is. He comported himself and used himself very well - and made my decision for Winners Dog a hard one. He has a grand head, wonderful and balanced angulation fore and aft, strong topline, correct tailset, good proportion and a correct coat. He is a very, very handsome dog. I anticipate that he will have a great future."
